AEterna Laboratories Inc. announced that
the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
has
granted its lead product, Neovastat(R),
antiangiogenic components extracted
from marine
cartilage, orphan-drug status for the treatment of
renal cell
carcinoma, a form of kidney
cancer.
